KRIYA3000 is pleased to announce Caught in the Act, its first pop-up exhibition in
2015. Featuring works by Murat Adash, Naama Arad, Erika Ceruzzi, Zuzanna
Czebatul, Tobias Donat, Elif Erkan, Alexis L-Grisé, Stephen Kwok, and Oren
Pinhassi, the exhibition is dedicated to artistic productions that deal with the frictions
between performance and sculpture. The presented art works investigate the
relations between body and space, movement and stasis, between the 3-dimensional
and flatness. From dancing bodies to shifting objects, Caught in The Act attempts to
take a glance at symbolic, conventional, and political gestures that find ways to
transform into physical things and lively structures. Therefore, gestures like stopping,
copying, revolving, interrupting, repeating, accelerating, and decelerating are acted
out, and subsequently “caught in” and exposed at the venue. Caught in the Act will be
on view Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21. KRIYA3000 is located on 34 E 1st
Street, New York, NY 10003.
Artists: Murat Adash, Naama Arad, Erika Ceruzzi, Zuzanna Czebatul, Tobias Donat,
Elif Erkan, Alexis L-Grisé, Stephen Kwok, and Oren Pinhassi.
